Originally from Chicago, IL, I've always been inspired and driven by music and performing arts. As a former basketball shooting guard, with a 6'3" lanky frame - dance was never a real goal of mine - just a hobby, and something I enjoyed/admired. Inspired by entertainers like Jackie Wilson, Michael and Janet Jackson, and Savion Glover, I always mimicked their energy, presence and ultimately was motivated to try a bit more - when the time was right.
With over a decade of musical training in classical and jazz bands (playing the alto saxophone) and just a year of training in Tap, I started dancing professionally while in school at Iowa State University where I joined the Hip Hop Dance Club (also known as 'Dub-H'). While in school, I taught workshops, classes, solos and competition pieces in Iowa, Minnesota, Chicago, and South Dakota. Soon thereafter, I started my first collaborative choreography company – 625 Beat Street, with the help of professional choreographer, business partner and friend, Jon Paul. After graduating from Iowa State University, I moved to Los Angeles to further pursue my career as a choreographer and dance student.
So far, I've been featured in music videos with Indie-pop band, Hot As Sun, pop singer/songwriter and friend, Kloe Shinn's hit single - "Boo Hoo", along with countless other independent artists. I've choreographed commercials for Charter Spectrum, along with music videos for: Alternative Rock band, Saint Motel - working with Miles 'Baby Boogaloo' Brown (also featured on the hit ABC television series, "Blackish"), Electronic Dance Music DJ, Producer, singer and songwriter - Skrillex, Malaysian Pop/R&B Star - Yuna and Swedish electronic band - Little Dragon. Formally serving as a work-study at Debbie Reynolds Dance Studio, I had the opportunity to train with some of the industry’s best and brightest choreographers. In August 2013 I became a certified GROOV3 instructor - teaching in Long Beach at Elevation Studios. You can also find me teaching my weekly all-level Hip Hop Classes at Gold's Gym, Elevation Studios and Your Neighborhood Dance Studio and occasionally subbing at Edge Performing Arts Center in Hollywood and LA DanceFit in West LA.
